Horseman Type of Chandragupta II was a new coin type introduced during his reign.
CLASS I - King riding to left, goddess to left on wicker stool CLASS II - King riding to right, goddess to left on wicker stool CLASS III - King riding horse (either to right or left), Goddess seated facing front.
Obverse- King shown riding a fully caparisoned horse either to the right or the left; wearing a dhoti, sometimes riding with weapons. Crescent behind kings head on some coins.

In this variety, the King is always shown with a bow in left hand. The King is always shown without a halo and the design is bold in execution and design. Also note that in this design the King is shown with a mustache.

A very unique and rare strike

Horse to right, nimbate (with halo), holding a bow in right hand. A beautiful pearl string is shown on the back of the Kings headdress.
This is the only known speciman of this variety. Usually the King is shown to be riding to the right with weapons in the left hand. This coin design appears to be a mirror image of another similar design where the King is shown riding to the left, holding a bow and with the same Pearls string off the back of the Kings head.

This is the first and only coin known to exist with this reverse design. Exceptionally rare and one of a kind speciman. These coins struck on a broad flan are unique and shows the hand of a very talented and skilled mint master.
